What is breed specific grooming?
Every breed (and mixed breed) is a unique blend (of many dogs before them!) with certain predominant coat & skin characteristics that make them look and feel and the way they do. Our certified, professional, groomers approach each breed differently in the way they groom them.
The thick curly coat of a poodle is much different than the thick undercoat coat of a malamute and needs to be treated differently to help them look good and to prevent skin and coat problems.
These are some of the top breeds that we see for instance that need to be thoroughly blow dried following bathing to prevent matting and to prevent “hot spots”.
Important Note: We use only “no heat” cage dryers when needed and stand dryers with low to no heat in special circumstances to gently and safely dry your pet. All pet grooming at Pet Styles is veterinary supervised during all open hours for ultimate safety.

If any coat conditions like the aforementioned “hot spots”, skin irritations, or ear infections are noted (certain breeds like Cocker Spaniels are extremely prone to these) we will immediately call you and offer you the choice of having your veterinarian or one of our veterinarians decide what needs to be done to safely complete the grooming.
